Birra.
Insalata.
Olio di Sicilia.
A sun-struck piazza. (This one happens to be in Comiso).
I’m on my way back to Sicily.
La dolce vita.
Paradiso.

mmmm, i love salads here. After all the genetically modified stuff in Alaska (which is the only kind of vegetable that can survive the freezing trip up), having an abundance of fresh tomatoes, lettuce, basil, etc. (not to mention the amazing mozzarella) is something I love taking advantage of in Sicily.
That sleepy, nearly-empty, sun-drenched piazza says “Sicily” to me.
Yup, screams it, doesn’t it?
What can I say, your friends have said it all. My dream was to live my last part of my life in La Bella Ragusa,Ibla, I hope it will happen. With much envy, ciao,John Schinina
Hi John, you’ll make it happen. I know you will! Then we’ll be due americani in Ibla.
I’m just captivated by these shots! I look at them and think, if I had all the things featured in them, it would be easy for me to delight in the famous “dolce far niente!” 🙂 Buon viaggio!
All you’d have to add is a good strong coffee at the end, right Bella?
Mmmmm…sun-kissed bliss!
It really is the simple things in life…
Jann, can you hear me whining??? I want to go with youuuuuuuuuuuu!!!! My next trip to Italy (and God willing, there will be another trip in a few yrs!) will definitely include Sicily!!
Have safe trip and enjoy your time, looking forward to pics as always!
Cathy
Cathy–I want to stuff you in my suitcase because I just know you’d be a fun travel friend!
Jann, You continue to inspire me with your beautiful images and your chutzpah in escaping from America to a place that resonates with your heart. I hope to soon return to San Miguel de Allende. I look forward to your discoveries on this trip to Sicily. Enjoy it all (especially the art of doing nothing!) and keep these posts coming!
Aysha, thank you. I don’t know if it’s chutzpah or sheer insanity that drives me… And can’t wait to hear more from you in beautiful San Miguel. Vaya con Dios!
Yummy salad. Your pictures are always enticing. Will you be there the first half of September????
Hi Rosann–sent a note to you on your site. xxx
