Perhaps he is just late for his meal! His beautiful Italian wife may be angry with him. The pasta will have gone cold. The bread stale. The wine sits in goblets , sweating. He is worried about her reaction. He will have to make it up to her. “Oh, carissima!”

Lovely photo. The soft tones and captured movement really lend a contemplative, almost melancholy feeling to the scene. He’s probably just wondering what mamma has cooked up for lunch, though.

Great picture. I don’t see sad, however. Maybe contemplative. I would love to try that solitude on for awhile as a change from the crazy corporate life here in America.

Maybe he’s on his way to work… that would make me look sad and wistful. Especially if instead all my friends were heading out for a fun evening.

Maybe he couldn’t find a winery! They have a few of them in Vittoria and the wine is very good. Have you had any Jann?
