So I abandoned my beloved Sicily for a few days and ran off into the arms of Malta.
My new love lies some 90 kilometers south of Sicily, a 90-minute catamaran trip from Pozzallo.

Good photos , Jann…! Beautiful places…..! Enjoy Malta…!
Thank you, Cemal.
I have always wanted to go and now you have convinced me. Several people in Noto said that the boat ride is so choppy that it is better to fly there. How was your experience? Clearly, it must depend on the weather that day. Beautiful photographs.
You’ll love Valletta, Catherine. I was often reminded of Noto.
Going was like sliding over glass. On the way back it was windy and choppy. I have a tendency to get seasick, but with those armbands I was fine, though I must say I swayed a bit the day after. Check the weather forecast before you go.
I am loving these colour effects you’ve put on the already gorgeous pix!
Ciao louciao–thanks!
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for looking, Susan!
Fantastico! I feel Malta. I love it too. Grazie! Abbracci a voi.
Aysha–glad you feel my Malta. 🙂 Add some heat and humidity and smells of braised rabbit and ovens cooking bread…
Love your shot of the sign: Bed, Drawing and Dining Room Suites! Thanks for the tour.
Thanks for your comment, Bonnie. There’s a lovely retro feel about Malta that I adore. But the isolated Maltese want to “modernize,” and don’t seem to appreciate this wonderful aspect to the island.
great colours! I hear it’s a very popular destination in the summer.
Haley, July and August get hot and humid and crowded with (mainly British?) tourists, so I’d recommend off-season.
Oh, how beautiful. I will put Malta on my wish-list. lh
Yes, you must!
BOIA! Che Bella!
Christine
Next time you’re in Sicily, we must drop down there. You’d find the cuisine molto interessante.
I’ve heard that Malta is a sort of microcosm of the Mediterranean, with its blend of North African and European influences.
It’s a fascinating blend of cultures–the food, the language, everything. Thanks for commenting!
Jann, what stunning captures! When I clicked on your site, I had just poured myself my evening cup of coffee. I can find no better way to accompany it than viewing your fantastic photographs! The one with the child playing with the ball is sensational. What wonderful composition!
Bella, troppo gentile…
jann–these photos are absolutely breathtaking!
Ciao, May! Sweet of you to comment.
