Mario and Ettore.
Ettore and Mario.
Which is which? Who is who?
Not sure.
But they’re a fine pair of fellows.Β You can often find them under the tall palms on the piazza.
They wear coppole, the signature hat of Sicily, but with their own quirky twist: backwards.
Mario and Ettore, you cut a bella figura. Or is that two belle figure?
Not sure.
But I love you guys!

PS: This is how they may have looked as babies.
an observation not a judgement. I think their Mother still dresses them.
La poesia e una parola Mama.
But you can be sure she does their laundry, at the very least. Even some married men I’ve met in Sicily still send their laundry back to mamma…sometimes all the way across the island.
Jann the RockStar twins of the village! Take a bow Mario and Ettore..

π Thanks for commenting, Carla.
Reminds me of the old Wrigley’s chewing gum ad with the jingle, “Double the pleasure, double the fun.” Not that I mean anything risquΓ© by that!
Ah, louciao, knowing you, of course nothing risquΓ© was intended ! π Thanks for dropping by.
I simply want to pack my bags and move to a place that has wonderful people like the ones you feature in your posts! How exciting life must be! Never a dull moment for you, eh, amica? π
π Well, Bella, I’m not sure “exciting” is quite the right word for this place, but “interesting” is certainly appropriate…
What Characters Jann,
They seem to enjoy their Twindom. I think I created a new word!!
:)Vicki
Ciao Vicki–love your newly-minted word!!!
Ladies, watch out, is what comes to mind looking at these two Jann! I can just imagine the stories. I mean one confident, sunkissed Siciliano dressed to impress would be a handful. But two. And identical twins. Can you imagine the doting mother poi…. Love this Jann. A life story in just a few pictures. Great work. xx
π Indeed, Janine! A package of double trouble (in theory at least). Thanks for reading!
These photos have put a smile on my face. What charactors! I bet they get papped a lot during the tourist season.
The first time I saw them I thought “performance art.” But no, it’s just the twins.
My sister in law is one of an identical twins. Very disconcerting at first, These fellows are just gorgeous, you can tell them I said so!!
ciao lisa x
I will indeed tell them so. Thanks Lisa!
On those rare occassions when I see identical twins together and dressed alike, I have this involuntary reaction of shaking my head to clear my vision.
π Always a fun surprise.
I’ll bet they have double the fun fooling people!
No doubt, Rosann!
The little ginger haired kids remind me of some members of my family near Palermo where maybe in a family of five or more kids one sees the whole spectrum of who invaded the island, children in the same family might reflect Sicily’s Arab past while some reflect the Normans, this is as such with my siblings and self where my brother is pink (Normans), I’m a little perpetually tanned (Mediterranean), and my sister is very dark olive (north African), non of us look related to the other.
I love this, Gian! It’s so interesting & something I’ve noticed too. Blonds pop forth from dark-haired couples, and no one is in the least surprised.
~~~~Oooo, my gosh.
Jann, you ALWAYS bring a smile to my face…even when I don’t want to SMILE π
I Love Mario & Ettore !!
Adooooooorable.
I can’t believe they dress the same.
Brilliant.
Luv Uuuu. xx
And Mario and Ettore would love you back, Kim! Thanks for smiling! Luv back 2 U.
Delightful
Thanks, Catherine!
Even their mom must have been challenged to tell them apart! From the twinkle in their eyes, I suspect they played many a trick on their friends, too!
π
Jann, they are adorable!! π
Ciao cara–hope all is well in Fiji!
