Jann, I used to think black cats were bad luck and then someone told me that in some cultures they were good luck. Wink wink! I love, love these shots! However did you get such wonderful close ups without scaring them away? The first one is my favorite. I just want to pull his whiskers, he’s so cute! Don’t tell Roxy I said that! ha! 🙂
I didn’t know about the Roman connection with Halloween. I do remember being impressed/shocked by the number of feral cats that were everywhere amidst the ruins of the Coliseum when I visited Rome as a little girl. Love the cat pix…and those eyes!!
My Sicilian grandmother used to claim having a black cat around the house was good luck. I’m more of a dog-girl, myself, but these kitties are sooo cute (don’t tell the Sheltie I said so, ha!)
Really???? That’s interesting, Debbie, what your grandmother said. Sometimes in Italy the opposite thing applies in terms of good and bad luck. For instance, 13 is a LUCKY number there. xxxxxx

Awww!Sweet! My neighbour, Giorgio, in Marina di Marza, has 2 little cats that go hunting with him. I regret not snapping a photo last week.
