Wow, these are beautiful photos. I hope I can visit there some day.
Love the wonderful patina on the buildings and that fountain … beautiful, with
the light coming through.
yes, very good price but Siracusa is a bit too south (though I think I have family there too). I’ll take your suggestions and look for blogs. I do like the home away site, also vrbo.com but there are usually few to choose from in Sicily. Thanks.
Jann, these photos take my breath away! How wonderful to get up at dawn and be able to feast your eyes on these sights! Ah, someday I too hope to stroll through the streets of a sleepy village in Italy. I pray my wish will come true! Hugs! 🙂
each moment exquisite, the vibrant orange pants and that last image of the fountain is so lifelike I can feel the chill from the droplets. I love the way the soft pink of the building contrasts with the aqua shade of the water. Beautiful x
Dawn? Seriously? How ’bout if I catch up with you. Though the sights you’re sharing here are almost tempting enough to have me tumble out of bed at dawn…
I felt the quiet and heard the water trickling over the edge of the fountain.
Lovely.
It is raining here in Florida this morning, gentle and quiet too. Such a
softness.
Vicki
Brava Jann! I keep looking at your fontana photo. I love how the sun lights up the water drops. I can hear the water falling and feel the spray on my face. Magic!
Nancy, I just randomly typed in “Siracusa” into the Home Away site, and found this cute-looking place right on the water in the marina for $462/week. That’s not such a bad price…do you think? (Disclaimer–I’ve never seen this place and don’t know the owners.) And less touristy places might have even cheaper prices…
Look around at Italy blogs, too, because lots of those bloggers have apartments for rent at reasonable prices. (Does anyone know of other good sites for finding apartments in Italy?????)
I like that startling dash of flourescent orange in the first photo. In fact, I think if one has to be startled, dawn is the best time to have it done.
Isn’t it lovely to be out and about before everyone else. I was up early in Siena once, before you had to pay to go into the duomo and I had it all to myself…magical.
Hi…your pictures are beautiful. I would like to spend a few months in Sicily. I’m retired, and I have the time now to visit as a would
Like. Are there places to rent for months at a time? I have always loved Sicily. I’m a complete novice about renting in
Foreign countries, but I would like that to change.
Would you have a suggestion where I start? I thank you for your time.

Hi Judy–welcome to the blog! I would suggest visiting a few towns first, staying in a few B&Bs, and once you find a town you want to spend 2 months in, you can search for an apartment on the spot. If you need more help, contact me via my “contact” page.
It’s so nice to see you still living in Sicily 🙂
Yup, still here after all these years!

Nancy, thank you for the vrbo.com information. Haven’t heard of that, but I’ll check it out.

Ha, ok Lynne with an e, catch me for coffee at the end…
-Indeed, this is a place where the poets must write great poems!
Fabulous & Magical, Jann.
I Love! Xxxx
Thanks Kim. You must be back from London?

Rain like a soft fountain. How lovely, Vicki. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Your photos are so lovely-I feel like I’m there. Thank you so much.
Ciao Janie, PaniniGirl, thank YOU.

It’s a very good place to sit in the summer when you’re hot…
Love the photos. My dream to spend a few months in Italy but finding an apartment reasonable isn’t all that easy. Someday…

Hi Jann~ these photos are amazing as ever, your work is always excellent.
It has inspired me to add Sicily to my list of places in Italy to visit.
Ciao Sue–there’s such richness in Italy, and I have a long list of places to visit, too. So glad I inspired you.
The sun breathing life into the water falling in the fountain is magical…I can almost hear it…and definitely wishing I was there!
🙂 Thanks for dropping by Cathy. I always love to hear from you. xxxxxx
Love Love Love the fountain!! The other shots are beautiful, too. Thanks for letting me tag along on your walk!
Hi Debbie, so glad to have you join me around town. Wish it were real rather than virtual!
I love your pictures and your blogs.
Ciao Jo & grazie mille.

Sam, he DID startle me. The only person around.
I think this is my favorite set to date!
Oh, Brenda, how sweet of you. Grazie.
The sun on the fountain is beautiful!
Hi Sandee–thank you! Kisses to you. xxxxxxxxx

Yes, my favorite time of day–I love feeling like I’m the only person in town.
Heaven, Jann. Thanks for taking me back. 🙂
Ciao Debra–my pleasure.
During our week long tour (by car) of Sicily last October, we were bowled over by the abundance of Baroque architecture in Noto.
Noto is special, isn’t it? So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your comment, Mike.
