Jann, if I tried to adjust the Son’s clothes like this in public, he’d disown me! hee hee! That said, I love how this man is receptive to his mother’s attentions. And I too love how you chose to make these shots black and white. Very dramatic! π
Yes, this guy is very patient with her fussing. π My husband would not tolerate it!
My husband, although Sicilian-Canadian, is not a mammone, thank goodness! His family were bewildered when he wanted to move out at 18. But being mammone is not just an Italian thing. I dated an Indo-Canadian guy many years ago, who, when he tried to make toast for the first time at 23, buttered the bread before putting it in the toaster. Then, when it started to smoke he assumed that the toaster was broken!
Love these pics! Especially how you’ve chosen black and white. This guy could be right out of an old Brooklyn movie!:)
Hmmmm….I am not sure, either, if it is the wife or Mama.
I have a very handsome son who is of part Italian heritage. I don’t think I would say he is a “mammone,” but maybe I should think about that. I know some of my family members think I spoil him. They can just keep their mouths shut!
Caterina, if you’re still doing his laundry & cooking for him when he’s 30, then maybe he will qualify as a “mammone.” π Until then, spoil away, I say!
I too thought she could be the wife. But as I look at all the pics, it looks like she is just bystander in the crowd that helped him with his collar.
In answer to your question, I have 2 sons who I adore. I wouldn’t say they are ‘mama’s boys’, but we do have a special relationship. There is nothing more beautiful than the respect and love of your children. And it goes both ways!
Sounds like you’re a lucky mom, Liz, and a happy one, too. Thanks for weighing in!
I think she would be formidable obstacle to any woman who wanted to marry her son.
π I certainly would not want to come between those 2!
haha, fabulous! You’ve really captured something here. They’re so pleased with each other, aren’t they? Her proprietarial hand as he’s about to look elsewhere. Just so long as I’m never married to this man π
So agree with you, Narelle!
Oh, that is just too much! Love it. As for the “wife” scenario…no way would Mr.Macho have a woman near his own age as a partner.
Even if she were close to his own age, seems like she’d have to be more the Sophia Loren type…
Definitely his Mom, not his wife! Yes, my son is a Momma’s boy, but In my mind, that means he is caring, he would like that definition better!!
Sandee–your sweet son is totally independent, not like “mammone” who can’t do their own laundry or fix themselves a meal. You have one fabulous boy–my love to you both. xxxxxx
Mamma mia! Great pics Jann! Bravissima come sempre! I don’t know who looks more pleased with themselves. They love one another to pieces too, you can tell! xx
Love how you put this, Janine…..grazie!
Is there anything more beautiful than the obvious love between a mama and her child, regardless of how old the “child” might be??
π
I think what I adore the most about these shots is the look of the son…the way he is allowing his mama to help him w/ his grooming, the way he is smiling with his cool sunglasses on…the way he is probably saying, “thanks mama. I love you mama.”
yes, I saw all of this!
btw, at first, I thought the mama was Maggie Thatcher.
xxxx LOVE. Xxxxxx
No way is that his wife…but if it is, she is the ultimate cougar. haaa
“The ultimate cougar.” You make me laugh, Kim. xxxxxxxxLove to you!
Yeah, my husband, lol! (In the first photo, I thought for a sec she was punching him…which could well be… π )
Ha! Debra–your hubby qualifies? Of Sicilian origin?
Hmmm, I wonder? love the photos. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Thank you Peggy. Glad you dropped by.
I vote for her being mama. She adores him too much to be is wife! hee-hee
Yes, Rosann–I think a wife could be grooming her husband in public, but she would not be smiling. (I say this from personal experience.)
Hey, are you sure Jann that the woman isn’t his wife?? They look about the same age!
π Well, Sandra, you’ve certainly started a discussion about this. Grazie!
