Everyone knows that Italians have a more highly honed sense of aesthetics that the rest of us.
Bella figura and all that. Toenails match belt. Glasses match watch.
But did you know Italians also match their vehicle to its parking spot?
Ohhhh, fantastic! I have never noticed it, I guess we do it so spontaneously, without realizing it….sometimes I wonder what would happen if you visited my small town, I am sure you’ll take amazing pictures!! Keep training your good eye 🙂
Marina, I know you’ve told me, but what is the name of your small town in Sicily??? Thanks for your sweet comment and I hope you’re continuing to enjoy life in Japan.
Name’s Castel di Iudica, 50KM from Catania. Actually,in a few months I am going to be there, I will spend the last 10 days of August with my folks…try to drop by and visit us, if you like!!
Life in Japan is still charming, with highs and lows, but enjoyable.
How nice you get to go home for a while. Enjoy your granita! (I like to escape the tourists & heat of August, so I may be in the North Pole or some such place.)
Oh, Jann, your eye for color is enviable! Only you could spot something this magnificent. Makes me wish I had a car with a matching colored parking space. hee hee! 🙂
Ha! Imaginative post! Gorgeous colours.
Amazing photos, Jann. Thanks for pointing out that Italians have a finely tuned sense of aesthetics!
THey do. Italians are like the Japanese in that respect. Thanks for commenting, Debbie. xxxxxx
Ha ha haaa! Your blogg always make my heart smile!
So glad, Lena!
Classic catch jann!!!! Bravissima! You even captured the fluro shade so ‘in’ this season…;-) xox
Oh, Janine–is the fluro shade “in”??? Ha ha, I did not know. I must pay better attention. Baci xxxxxxxxxx
How did you do that? Was it luck, complete randomness, or a incredibly good eye?
Amazing! Loved ’em all…
🙂 Thanks Liz. I think what happened is that I spotted the first scene, and then started looking for more matches….
I was puzzled after reading the headline and then had to chuckle when I realized how you meant the colors matching. haha
🙂 The title was rather weird! Sending lots of love to you Sandee. Miss you!!!! xxxxxxxxx
Good eye!!
Thank you Mr. Samuel.
First and third are my favourites. Love the colours. We’ll be back in Sicily in less than a month. So excited!
How long will you stay this time Diane?????? xxxxxxxxx Hope to see you one of these years.
Love the way you capture the everyday things. Great photos
Thank you Emalene. Hope you’re well! Where in Italy will you travel this year?
Oooooo, my heart did a few flips looking at these photos.
Pure, Utter, Vivid Poetry.
I Looove, Jann. xx
You’re so sweet Kim, and I love picturing your big heart doing flips. xxxxxxxx
Wonderful…just wonderful pictures! You see what many of us would rush past, without giving it a glance. My fav is the van. Thank you! xoxoxo
Hi there Cathy–Thank YOU! xxxxxxxxxxxxoooooooooooo
Clever girl!
Marisa–it’s lovely to get your comment! Are you all rested up from your Grand Tour of Europe???? Baci xxxxxxxxx
How observant you are. You certainly do have an eye for great photos. I would never have noticed the color combos.
Thanks Nancy. But you’d have noticed other interesting things in the same places that I’d never have seen. xxxxxx
How clever you are! Now you will have me looking for cars with matching backgrounds…great photos.
🙂 Hope you don’t get too side-tracked, Debra, from your own beautiful photo-making!
I was expecting photos of the hilarious ways Sicilians will park a car anywhere and any way it fits. This is even better. 🙂
Debra, I like your first idea, too, because Sicilians do have very inventive ways to “park.” Though I’m told with the new EU traffic rules, they’re not quite as inventive as they used to be. The crazy thing is that when I go back to the US, I still park like I’m in Sicily–and I get parking tickets. Ouch!
Brilliant! I love how you capture yet another way that Italy works its magic–Grazie!
Ciao Susan & grazie. xxxxxx
Love this!
Ciao Brenda and thank you for this sweet comment.
