One of my favorite Sicilian things is the aroma in the air. The countryside has a sweet smell that I have never been able to attribute to any particular thing, but it is unique to Sicily. I always loved walking through the Villa in Ibla because there was always an aroma in the air of lavendar and pine. I have to also add the delicious aroma emanating from the kitchens at dinner time.
